The course "Eu investment law"

The teaching and research activities of the Jean Monnet Module on "EU Investment Law" address the reasoning of investment treaties and arbitral case-law in order to render students, academics, practitioners, in particular enterprises, policy-makers, representatives of civil society and whoever may be interested more aware of the new conceptual perspectives that can be identified because of the growing importance of the European Union as an active player of the international investment arena.

More specifically, these activities are directed to render students, academics, practitioners, in particular enterprises, policy-makers, representatives of civil society and whoever may be interested more familiar with the real world of transnational economic relations and with the EU contribution to the identification and response to issues.

As the courses currently given at the University of Teramo are related to the basic aspects of European Union Law, and are mainly designed for the students of the Law Faculty, the students of all the other Faculties of the University of Teramo, not only those of the Faculty of Communication Science, but also those of the Faculty of Political Science, of the Faculties of Bioscience, Agro-Food and Environmental Technology and Veterinary Medicine, would have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the functioning of the internal market and of the European Union as a key player of international economic relations through the Jean Monnet Module on EU Investment Law and to build up an independent capacity to understanding EU specific issues that might be relevant in their professional lives.

The course will be carried out using a combination of lectures and class discussions. A reading list and materials will be indicated as compulsory, others as further reference.
